Insurance coverage is subjective in terms of importance they hold for different people. Some people may give importance to coverage for critical illnesses and for others coverage of basic illnesses hold great importance as they frequently happen.

Some of the commonly known coverage which are covered under both Indian as well as International Insurance plans: –

# Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of remains – Expenses covered in case of evacuation due to medical emergency and in case of transfer of bodily remains of a student to the home country.

# AD&D common carrier – Compensation amount in case accidental death or dismemberment of limbs of a Student.

# Prescription drugs – Expenses covered for bill of purchased drugs prescribed by doctors

# Maternity/Newborn care – Coverage for expenses incurred due to pregnancy and birth of a child, also covering future care of the new born.

# Medical emergency room – Coverage for expenses incurred in case of emergency medical treatments.

# Substance abuse – Coverage for expenses incurred due to medical treatment of misuse of substances such as Alcohol and other substances harmful for the body.

# Mental and Nervous disorder – Coverage for expenses incurred due to medical treatment of mental and nervous problems.

# Pre-existing diseases – Coverage for medical expenses caused due diseases/sickness originating before the start of the Insurance period.

Important Coverage under Indian Insurance plans

Following coverage are the coverage exclusive to Indian Health cum Travel Insurance plans:

# Personal Accident – Coverage for expenses incurred due to medical treatments of injuries sustained in accidents encountered during the visit.

# Loss of Passport – Coverage for expenses incurred towards the prescribed fee payable to the concerned authorities for issue of an emergency certificate in case of loss of Passport.

# Loss of checked-in baggage & Laptop – Coverage for expenses incurred due to loss of checked-in luggage including Laptop.

# Bail bond payment – Coverage for expenses incurred due to payment of bail amount for imprisonment for a bailable offence.

# Study Interruption/Tuition fee – Coverage for compensation to be paid in lieu of remaining semester fees already paid in case of discontinuance of studies due to any illness or death of a sponsor or an immediate family member.

# Accident to sponsor/Sponsor protection – Coverage for expenses incurred in case of death of the sponsor. The expense in this case would be the remaining tuition fee of the educational institution.

# Personal liability – Coverage for compensation to be paid in the event the Insured becomes legally liable to a third party under statutory liability provisions in private law for an incident which results in death, injury or damage to the health of such third party or damage to his/her properties.

# Suicide – Coverage for payment made in case of death on account of suicide or attempt to suicide, one-time payment as mentioned in policy schedule would be offered as benefit.

 

Important Coverage under U.S. Insurance plans

Following coverage are the coverage exclusive to U.S. Health Insurance plans: –

# Ambulance Services – Coverage for expenses incurred towards usage of ambulance services for a medical treatment.

# Preventive care services – Coverage for expenses incurred for preventive care services such as mandatory vaccinations among others.

# Titers – Coverage for expenses incurred towards medical test taken to fulfil university requirements or otherwise.

# Physiotherapy – Coverage for expenses incurred towards medical test taken to fulfil university

# Chemotherapy – Coverage for expenses incurred towards treatment taken to cure cancer
